Did anyone look into why something this simple for a GPU takes so much energy? It looks cool, but it's not usable unless it's not going to drain the phone's battery.
Also, if anyone's interested the horizontal banding effect that the above examples show can be eliminated by changing the angle to be a multiple of 90', for example
linear-gradient(270deg,#000000 0%, #ffffff 100%)
will render smooth band-free lines...
